- This image is by American portrait photographer - Annie Leibovitz. This is one taken from her collection of fairy-tale photographs. I am using this photo to demonstrate composition I think that a lot of the elements in this picture have been photographed separately and edited together. The composition in this picture is very good as all the mermaids and fish overlap and intertwine. My eye is automatically drawn to the read haired mermaid sitting to the right. Which I think follows the rule of thirds.
